Wednesday 5th July at 10.10 am- Île de Groix to Crouesty
We left Groix after breakfast having had a most enjoyable visit and set off for the marina at Crouesty, on the eastern side of the entrance to the Gulf of Morbihan……
Once out of the harbour we had the wind from the east and having turned onto our course towards the Quiberon Peninsula the wind built to be 17knots and so Musetta ‘took off’, romping along at a steady 7+ knots through the water, our maximum speed over the ground was 8.2knots! Apart from one or two spells when the wind died or a squall came through, we were able to make Crouesty in good time, arriving at 4.30pm a distance of 32 nautical miles.
You can probably guess that we had a really good sail! Although I was keen to visit Crouesty I really didn’t want to stop sailing that day.
4.30pm – Arrival in the port of Crouesty
We were allocated a mooring in the north basin and decided to stay for two nights so that we could have a look around, meet up with some fellow cruisers whom we had first met in Port la Forêt and to hear all their news. It was HOT and airless too but I am never going to complain when the sun is shining!!
